With over 30 years of martial arts experience, Johnny
Lee Smith has created
a CMAP that is second to none. Besides martial arts
skills, Triad's CMAP
provides children with lessons on Respect, Discipline,
Compassion, Forgiveness,
Concentration and Personal Responsibility.
Our CMAP includes the following:
-A uniform
-An official Triad Martial Arts handbook
-A documented step-by-step curriculum
-Coordination & strength drills
-Martial Arts Skills
-Life Skills
-Safety Skills
-Opportunities for belt rank advancement
-Opportunities to earn achievement patches
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION:
A minimum of 16 years of age and four years of training
is required to be eligible to be
a Triad Black Belt in Karate. A minimum of 18 years of
age and six years of training is
required to be eligible to be a Triad Black Belt in
Jiu-jitsu. We do not promote children to Black Belt. The
following are reasons why:
-Children do not have the maturity required to be a
Triad Black Belt
-If someone is not old enough to drive a car, they are
not old enough to be a Black Belt
-A Triad Black Belt is a rank of great honor and we
intend to keep it that way
-Our performance standards are very high
-Our fitness standards are very high
-Being able to perform Black Belt movements does not
make one a Black Belt
-We do not believe in giving our students a false sense
of security
The vast majority of martial arts schools in America do
promote children to Black Belt.
This is supposedly a "smart" business decision because
statistics show that easier
testing and ranking requirements increases the retention
of both children and adults.
All martial arts marketing companies promote this idea.
Johnny Lee Smith and
Triad Martial Arts rejects this line of thinking. We
believe in high standards while
understanding that this will not appeal to everyone. We
will never regret encouraging
our students to strive for and achieve martial arts
excellence.
Consider the following:
-If public schools would just water down their
curriculum, less students would fail and
dropout rates would decline.
-If Colleges and Universities would just water down
their curriculum, more students wouldattend and
graduate. |
